We begin with design and pre-construction support, reviewing drawings and specifications to identify rated assemblies and potential problem areas. We confirm required ratings, standards, specifications and any other project-specific requirements so that firestopping isn’t left to guesswork in the field.

For each condition, cables, conduit, pipe (insulated and uninsulated), ducts, structural members, head-of-wall and edge-of-slab joints, we select tested and listed firestop systems that match the actual design/field conditions. Where needed and accepted by the design team and AHJ, we coordinate manufacturer engineering judgments to address unique details that often show up on complex Western Canadian projects.

Installation of UL/ULC Firestop systems is carried out by our UL Qualified, FCIA FEP-trained crews, using manufacturer-specified materials and following exact installation instructions for backing, depth, density, and finishes. This ensures your firestop systems don’t just look compliant, they are installed as tested.

Documentation and traceability are core to our firestopping service. Beyond Thermal:
• Uses project tracking software to record locations, tested system numbers, and products installed
• Supports inspections and third-party review with organized submittals, as-built records, and photos
• Labels each firestop location in accordance with project specifications, applicable ASTM standards, and industry best practice, providing long-term firestop system identification to support maintenance over the life of the building.

We coordinate closely with GCs, mechanical, electrical, drywall and other trades to sequence work efficiently, minimize rework, and keep inspections smooth.
